What do I need to be eligible for casual teaching?

The requirements for all teachers, whether applying for permanent or casual positions, are the same as follows:

• classification by the Catholic Education Office, Parramatta
• accreditation according to the NSW Institute of Teachers
• compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation

Where and how do I apply for a casual position?

Apply directly to the school where you would like to teach.
Individual schools arrange their own casual teachers to meet specific needs.

It may be useful to contact a number of schools in your area indicating your availability for casual teaching placements and your relevant qualifications and experience. Most schools maintain a casual list which they consult when a need arises.
