2013 Primary & Secondary Music Showcases
- Combined Schools' Instrumental Program (Primary & Secondary)
This program gives the opportunity to students from across our schools to collaboration together in making music as part of an instrumental ensemble through the learning of a combined repertoire. Please consult your child's music teacher about participation in this program.

This program gives the opportunity to students from across our schools to collaboration together in making music as part of a choral ensemble through the learning of a combined repertoire. Please consult your child's music teacher about participation in this program. - CAPTIVATE Voices (Auditioned Primary - Stage 3)
This small ensemble provides an opportunity for more experienced singers to explore a wider range of repertoire and performance opportuinties and will become the feeder ensemble for the Secondary Chamber Choir. Rehearsals are held across the Diocese on a three-week rotation. An audition is required for entry into this ensemble. Please contact David Russell for more information
- CAPTIVATE Chamber Choir (Auditioned Secondary)
This small ensemble provides an opportunity for more experienced singers to explore a wider range of repertoire and performance opportuinties and is the representative choral ensemble for System and Diocesan events. Rehearsals are held across the Diocese on a three-week rotation. An audition is required for entry into this ensemble. 2013 In-School Music Opportunities
These programs are run in class streams during the school day, usually on a weekly or fortnightly basis
- Beginner Strings (Primary)*
The String Things Method is written so that students can play together as a group as they learn to play a string instrument. Run in class streams, this program is targeted at upper stage 2 and stage 3 students.
Participation is by special arangement and requires a co-contribution from schools. Interested schools should contact the CAPTIVATE team for more information and availability.
- Choral Development Program (Primary)*
Run in collaboration with the Australian School of Performing Arts, this program will be offered in terms 2 and 3 to Primary schools in the diocese. Two choir specialists will visit schools on a fortnightly basis over twenty weeks to establish or further develop a school choral group/choir.
Professional Development is provided to school teachers to continue the program in the weeks when an ASPA tutor is not at the school.
This program is by application and requires a co-contribution from schools. Interested schools should contact the CAPTIVATE team for more information and availability.
