Catholic Education ICT staff get an upgrade

On Friday 2 December, Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta’s Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) staff were presented with their certificates of graduation for successfully completing information technology courses through TAFE NSW.
Over the past 12 months, ICT staff have undertaken courses to upgrade their skills and obtain additional qualifications as part of their professional learning.
Catholic Education developed the program in collaboration with Nirimba College (TAFE NSW) with the aim of providing staff with industry recognition and gap training towards national qualifications in information technology.
Catholic Education’s ICT training manager, Stan Wawrzyniak, said the program has been a great initiative.
‘The professional learning model being used within ICT support is a great example of what we believe and practice about learning,’ said Stan. ‘Appropriately skilled and qualified ICT users are increasingly core to any the work of contemporary schools and technology changes so quickly, upgrading knowledge and skills has become part of our everyday working lives.’
