On Thursday 27 May, the World of Maths visited Our Lady of Lourdes Primary, Baulkham Hills.

World of Maths is a presentation of enjoyable and educational, hands-on, problem solving activities that enhance students’ grasp of key mathematical concepts. The problem solving activities cover a variety of topics on the syllabus and most activities relate to real life situations.

Students from Years 3 to 6 were engaged in small groups working through unique interactive displays designed by skilled mathematics teachers.

Principal Helen Kingsley said the practical approach to Maths proved to be very effective and engaged the students in numeracy related situations.

‘The mathematics activities proved to be highly entertaining, while providing an educational focus that supports the Mathematics curriculum delivered at Our Lady of Lourdes,’ said Helen. ‘The students were very engaged in the hands on approach which allowed them to explore Maths scenarios in relevant real life situations.’
