Big Night Out at St Andrew’s Marayong

The Creative Arts Night at St Andrew
The Creative Arts Night at St Andrew's College, Marayong will feature contestants from The Voice

Popular contestants from The Voice will join the best talent in town at St Andrew’s College, Marayong on Tuesday night at the school’s Creative Arts Night (CAN). Organisers are expecting up to 1200 to attend.

Creative and Performing Arts coordinator Antonio Chiappetta said this annual event is being staged outside to cater to an upsurge of fans flocking to see local students do their magic on stage.

“Thousands of local people gather on our school oval to celebrate the creative talents of our students,” he said.

“Formerly, this event was in our school hall with limo and red carpets like the ARIA awards but then this became too large for 800 capacity. We are now outdoors in the spirit of a music festival and have crowds up to 2000.

“We have Voice contestants, stage trucks, food trucks, St John’s Ambulance and professional security on site, and have a huge 8m x 12m cinema screen with live camera and drone work.

“More than 80 Vocal Education Training (VET)  entertainment students from across the diocese gaining competency and fireworks to conclude the evening.

“We believe that this is truly the best in-school CAPA night in the country. We totally rock!”

The festival starts at 3.30pm and finishes at 9pm at 116 Quakers Rd, Marayong at St Andrews College, Marayong.
