Colour Run Fun!

Colour run fun at Our Lady of the Nativity Lawson

When the suggestion was made by parents to have a Colour Run fundraising event at Our Lady of the Nativity, Lawson, Principal Lisa Samojlowicz said “yes, let’s do it!”

As a result, parents and teachers worked together so the school could hold its first Colour Run Fun Day and as a result managed to raise up to $10,000 for school equipment and resources.

Parents & Friends president Lidia De Vroome said she was very happy to see all the teachers and students embrace the day.

The obstacle course, which was set up by Mrs Samojlowicz, included loads of fun activities like the parachute, rainbow balancing beams, hula hoops, bean bag in a bucket challenge intertwined with colour stations manned by volunteer parents who sprayed colour onto the students as they made their way through the course.

Parent volunteers assisted with the event

At the end students were greeted with a burst of bubbles before being handed an ice block as a reward for a job well done!

To test out the obstacle course first, the teachers had to give it a run through and needless to say they all ended up with very colourful outfits in the end.

“Everyone had fun. There was so much colour everywhere. I am not sure our parent volunteers were aware they were going to get coloured too!,’’ Mrs Samojlowicz said.

"It has been fantastic and we managed to raise the money within a month of letting the school community know we were having this event.’’

She has already asked the students if they would like to have another Colour Run Fun Day and they all said yes even one student asked "can we do this every Thursday?"

Students were treated with an ice block after their colour run The day was a great success and another colour run is on the tables
Everyone enjoyed themselves, raising up to $10,000 Parents and teachers on the day
