The teacher of TAS and VET-Hospitality & Food Technology must be an enthusiastic, talented professional to inspire the TAS and VET learning areas within the College. The successful applicant must have experience teaching Stages 4, 5 & 6. This role is permanent/full-time commencing Term 1, 2019. ST Patrick’s Marist College is a coeducational year’s 7 to 12 high school following in the Marist tradition.


The successful applicant will demonstrate
• A strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Education and a willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic, religious, academic and pastoral dimensions of College life;
• Proven ability to teach Stage 4, 5 and 6 - Food Technology and VET-Hospitality;
• Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills to work as part of a teaching team;
• Proven ability to implement differentiated learning experiences to meet student personal learning needs;
• The ability and willingness to effectively integrate technology into the syllabus;
• Lead the development of social skills and nurture the growth of enterprise skills including critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student;
• Demonstrate understanding of curriculum and pedagogy and how these underpin:
~ inquiry-based learning (including PBL)
~ creativity and critical thinking;
~ responses to complex real-world questions and authentic problems;
• A willingness to engage in the Catholic life of our school;
• Effective classroom practice and management, utilising a variety of innovative teaching and learning strategies;
• Have demonstrated the understanding and application of the whole school policies and procedures concerning WHS and student welfare;
• Know and apply NESA and Catholic Education, Diocese of Parramatta (CEDP) requirements;
• Have classification or be in the process of obtaining classification with the CEDP;
• Have a current Working with Children Check.
