Description

Marian Catholic College is seeking enthusiastic and suitably qualified teachers to apply for this temporary full time Senior Business Studies, Commerce and Junior HSIE teaching position. This position is for Terms 2 and 3, 2018 (with the possibility to be extended to the end of the year) to cover a teacher on Maternity Leave.

Applicants need to be comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment and be willing to be an active part of the Marian Community.


Criteria

The successful applicant will have:

* qualifications in / previous experience teaching Business Studies (Years 11 & 12).
* qualifications in / previous experience teaching Commerce (Years 9 & 10).
* qualifications in / previous experience teaching Geography and History (Year 10).
* qualifications in / previous experience teaching HSIE (Year 8).
* an outstanding knowledge of the subject as well as the capacity to apply this knowledge to enable students with a diverse range of needs to achieve their full potential.
* high quality classroom management skills.
* the ability and willingness to integrate iPads into the syllabus.
* an understanding and knowledge of effective assessment techniques and the flexibility to differentiate learning activities for students.
* effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
* completed, or be in the process of obtaining, their Working with Children Check.
* completed, or be in the process of completing, their classification with Catholic Education Diocese Parramatta (CEDP).
* a willingness to contribute to, and support, the Faculty in any after-hours school-based events.

Highly Desirable:
* Accreditation to teach Religious Education in Parramatta Diocese.

The Principal reserves the right to vary the duties of the position during the contractual period.
