The Parramatta Diocese Primary School Sports Council (PDPSSC) is responsible for the provision of opportunities for primary children from eight years of age to participate in representative teams in the following sports: swimming, athletics, cross country, diving, tennis, cricket, basketball, softball, touch, rugby league, rugby union, soccer, hockey, netball and Australian rules.
Representation is facilitated through the following pathway:
- zone (Hills, Cumberland, Nepean, Blacktown)
- diocese (Parramatta)
- region (MacKillop)
- state (NSW PSSA)
This culminates with the opportunity for talented students to participate in School Sport Australia.
For information relating to primary school involvement in inter-school sports activities at zone, diocesan, regional and NSW representative level please visit the PDPSSC website: www.primarysportparra.catholic.edu.au
The Parramatta Diocese Secondary Schools Sports Council (PDSSSC) provides the avenue for students across the diocese to experience most individual and team sports. It also gives students, depending on their ability, the chance to play in competition against other schools in the diocese during the weekly inter-school sports afternoon or to trial for PDSSSC teams/squads to compete in NSW Combined Colleges events against other Catholic schools students across NSW.
From these events there is also the opportunity for our talented athletes to compete at NSW All Schools and possibly national level in certain events alongside their state and independent school peers.
Both male and female students are catered for with a wide selection of sports including - swimming, cross country, athletics, AFL, baseball, basketball, cricket, diving, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, hockey, netball, orienteering, rugby league, rugby union, soccer, softball, surfing, tennis, touch, triathlon, volleyball and water polo.
