Classification & Accreditation

What do I need to be eligible to teach?

To be employed as a teacher, whether applying for permanent or casual positions, in the Parramatta Catholic system of schools you require:

  • classification by the Catholic Education Office, Parramatta
  • accreditation according to the NSW Institute of Teachers
  • compliance with NSW child Protection Legislation

Classification and accreditation require evidence of qualifications, experience and an authority to work, if not an Australian resident.

What do I need to do to meet these requirements?

Follow the link below to complete an application for classification. Certified copies of all supporting documentation, as outlined at the end of the application process, should be submitted to:

Catholic Education Office
Locked Bag 4
North Parramatta NSW 1750

Once the supporting documentation has been received and reviewed, your application for classification will be complete.

NSW Institute of Teachers accreditation is required.  If you have not previously been accredited, you may apply at the Institute’s website at http://www.nswteachers.nsw.edu.au/.
