Showcase is an inclusive performance opportunity celebrating excellence in the arts across the diocese.
Alternating with CAPTIVATE’s Arts Factor Program on a bi-yearly basis, Showcase allows students to participate in large-scale combined opportunities and is targeted at school groups rather than individual students.
These combined opportunities give students the experience of being part of large ensembles or installations beyond the capacity of any one school, exposing them to a variety of genres that they may not have had the opportunity to experience previously.
These opportunities cater for students of all abilities including those with no prior experience.

Primary Schools
The following Showcase ensembles are offered for primary schools during a Showcase year:
- Primary Dance Ensemble (Yrs 3-6)
- Primary Drama Ensemble (Yrs 3-6)
- Visual Arts Installation
- Primary Choir (Yrs 3-6)
- Instrumental Ensemble* (Yrs 5-6)
*The instrumental ensembles are made up of students in schools that run either and band or string program. Students need to be able to read music and have a minimum of two years learning on their instrument.
To participate in an ensemble, schools will need to attend two full-day combined rehearsals during school time at a school venue within the diocese. Further information about dates and locations for these rehearsals will be made available once we know which schools are participating. There may also be some additional follow-up rehearsals in individual schools if required.
Taking part in Professional Learning events during CAPTIVATE Showcase enables teachers to gain experience in intensive concert preparation and performance, repertoire familiarisation and rehearsal and performance preparation including leading sectional rehearsals. It is compulsory for one teacher from each school to attend these events in order for the school to participate in Showcase.

Secondary Schools
The following Showcase ensembles are offered for secondary schools during a Showcase year:
- Secondary Dance Ensemble
- Secondary Drama Ensemble
- Visual Arts Installation
- Secondary Choir
- Instrumental Ensemble*
*Students need to be able to read music and have a minimum of two years learning on their instrument. We are accepting students that play the following instruments: Woodwind, Strings, Brass, Bass Guitar or Percussion (there will be a limit on the number of percussionists and Bass Guitar players that we can accept).
To participate in an ensemble, schools will need to attend two full-day combined rehearsals during school time at a school venue within the diocese. Further information about dates and locations for these rehearsals will be made available once we know which schools are participating. There may also be some additional follow-up rehearsals in individual schools if required.

Leading Ensembles
Those with a higher level of experience and training can audition to be in one of the following leading ensembles:
- Voices (Yrs 4-6)
- Leading Instrumental Ensemble (Yrs 6-12) Students must be of at least a 4th grade or equivalent on their instrument
- Leading Dance Ensembles (Yrs 6-12) Commercial & Contemporary
- Leading Drama Ensemble (Yrs 6-12)
- Chamber Choir (Yrs 7-12)
