β¨ Celebrating SKY COUNTRY at St Canice's πΏ St Canice's Primary Katoomba showcased a term of rich cultural learning with their Sky Country Expo, inspired by the Seven Sisters Dreaming and guided by the Jarara team. β The day begun with a meaningful prayer, centred around three crosses created by Uncle Ted Langford, each representing themes of Cosmic, Spiritual and Cultural Connectedness, and honouring St Canice's unique Cultural Journey. πΆ Students shared their learning by singing in Dharug and Gundungurra, then welcomed families and guests into classrooms filled with creative works across Dance, Music, Art, English and Science - all deeply connected to Aboriginal perspectives and Sky Country stories. A standout moment was an incredible dance performance led by Jo Clancy from Wagana Danc. Jo, a proud Wiradjuri woman, has been working alongside students throughout the term to bring stories of Country to life through movement. ππ€β€οΈ This event is a testament to the commitment of students and staff in honouring First Nations knowledge, culture and storytelling. CSPD schools continue to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander through education that builds respect and understanding. π₯³π PARTY PLANS IN ACTION! π₯³π Year 9 Child Studies students from Santa Sophia Catholic College Gables brought their learning to life by welcoming two very special visitors - a curious 1-year-old and an energetic 5-year-old! As part of their assessment, students were tasked with planning a birthday party for a 5-year-old. π With the help of their real-life junior guests (and judge!), the students got authentic feedback while making the experience fun, playful and engaging. π Party plans had to meet key criteria, including: β A clear and fun theme β Eye-catching decorations β Creative games and activities β Nutritious, inclusive food options β Attention to detail in planning Students presented their work not only to teachers and peers but also to their target audience - gaining meaningful insights and plenty of smiles! π From egg-and-spoon races to parachute play, the Year 9s used their knowledge to create an enjoyable and inclusive experience, showing initiative, care and creativity throughout. π‘ What a fantastic way for students to apply their learning in a real-world context - and there's no doubt that the junior guests had a blast too! πββοΈ PRIMARY & SECONDARY DIOCESAN ATHLETICS CARNIVAL π A massive congratulations to all the talented athletes who proudly represented their schools at the Parramatta Diocesan Athletics Carnival! π πͺ Good Shepherd Plumpton, St Angela's Primary School Castle Hill, Caroline Chisholm College Glenmore Park, St John Paul II Catholic College, Schofields & Nirimba, Holy Cross Primary Glenwood, St Patrick's Guildford and Cerdon College Merrylands were just some of the schools who competed and demonstrated incredible spirit and sporstmanship. β Special shoutout to the amazing students from St Pauls Catholic College, Greystanes who generously volunteered at the Primary Carnival at Blacktown Olympic Park. Their behind the scenes support helped ensure the day ran smoothly! Those who have qualified will go on to represent Parramatta at the MacKillop Athletics Championships - we wish these young athletes all the best as they progress to the next stage! π

This stunning celebration of cultureπΈ, great foodπ₯π₯ and traditional musicπΆ and dance was a huge success and a wonderful example of our school communities coming together in a spirit of inclusion and happiness.πΊππ₯ Over 1000 ticketsπ sold out within a few days as students and families from St John XXIII Catholic College (hosted the event), St Clare's Catholic High School Hassall Grove, St Agnes' Catholic High School Rooty Hill and Patrician Brothers' Blacktown enjoyed a magical evening.π«π The event included very powerful and moving student performances, delicious food courtest of Pasifiki food trucks, Fire Justyce's fire show, Miss Samoa NSW and Miss Tonga NSW meet and greet and so much more.π A night like this reminds us that when culture, community and joy come together, it creates memories, and connections, that will last a lifetime.ποΈποΈ

π SHEAR talent on display! π₯ Students from Penola Catholic College Emu Plains, St John Paul II Catholic College, Schofields & Nirimba and Caroline Chisholm College Glenmore Park dominated this year's Penrith Show! π The agriculture and TAS students had an incredible weekend showcasing their skills across events including poultry and produce, cattle handling, creative displays and more. π Highlights include: Caroline Chisholm College took home over 15 ribbons for their outstanding parading skills with dairy calves, steer and sheep! St John Paul II Catholic College, Schofields & Nirimba students earned titles for Champion Sheep Judging Team and Champion Chicken Judge, alongside multiple other placings. Penola Catholic College Emu Plains excelled across a range of events, with one student receiving the prestigious Next Generation Farmers Award - a scholarship supporting future study in agriculture. π―π¦ TEACHERS TAKE THE PLUNGE! π―π¦ Santa Sophia Catholic College really raised the bar (and dropped their teachers!) in one of the most entertaining school fundraisers yet! β¬οΈβ¬οΈ Over 50 students took their best shot in a SPLASH-tacular day of dunking brave teachers as part of the schoolβs Glowtastic Fundraiser. With every dunk, laugh and cheer, students helped raise a jaw-dropping $32,000 for their school community! π π Huge shoutout to the fearless teachers who took the plunge - true champions of school spirit!

π DAY FOR DADS! π From BBQ breakfasts to tug-of-war battles, many schools celebrated Fatherβs Day with fun, food and heartfelt moments! π¨ Schools including Holy Cross Primary Glenwood, Holy Spirit St Clair, Marian Catholic College Kenthurst, Mary Immaculate Primary School Quakers Hill, Our Lady of the Way School, Emu Plains, Santa Sophia Catholic College Gables, St Anthony's Primary, Girraween, St Canice's Primary Katoomba, St John XXIII Catholic College Stanhope Gardens , St John's Primary, Riverstone, St Monica's Primary School Richmond, St Patrick's Primary School Blacktown and St Paul the Apostle Primary Winston Hills were just some of those who joined in on the festivities! Highlights from the day included: π Shared BBQs and family picnics π Beautiful Fatherβs Day Masses and liturgies π Games, tug-of-war and sporty challenges π Creative crafts and classic 'Dad dress-ups' π Cosy rug reading and sweet βDonuts for Dadβ A huge thank you to all the dads, father figures and carers who joined in the celebrations and made the day extra special.
