🧦 SOCK-ER FOR A GOOD CAUSE! ⚽ Schools across our Diocese have been getting creative to support Catholic Mission's SOCKTOBER initiative - from wearing crazy socks and showing off their soccer skills to making DIY sockballs from plastic bags and recycled materials! ✨ Socktober is a fun and meaningful way to bring communities together and make a real difference. Through games, learning and reflection, students explore global issues, take action against poverty and see the positive impact their efforts can have on others’ lives. HSC Business Studies 2025: Exam writers struggle for 'fresh' questions in 15-year-old syllabus

As students completed the 2025 Business Studies HSC exam, many left wondering: is the current curriculum still up to scratch? This year’s Business Studies exam, still based on the 2010 syllabus, posed a unique challenge for students, with exam writers seemingly running short on fresh material and beginning to draw on smaller, less-emphasised sections of the curriculum.

🌟 OUR AMAZING ALUMNA, ALYSSA! 🌟 Have you heard the exciting news? Former CSPD student and The Voice Australia contestant Alyssa Delpopolo has made it all the way to the Grand Final this Sunday! 🎤✨ Alyssa recently wowed audiences at Catholic Youth Parramatta and Diocese of Parramatta's LIFTED Live in the Forecourt and also paid a special visit to Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Primary School Rouse Hill! During her visit, she shared her incredible voice, answered thoughtful questions from students and spoke about chasing your dreams and overcoming fear. A special highlight was seeing Alyssa perform alongside the school choir, and being surprised with a heartfelt gift from her cousin in Kindergarten. 🎶 We’re so proud to see our alumni shining so brightly! DEDICATION ON & OFF THE FIELD! 👏 These two Year 12 graduate sporting stars have been juggling HSC study and training - all while competing on the world stage! 💪 Matthew Engesser, from Gilroy Catholic College Castle Hill, has been balancing study, exams and training - all while competing at the World Para Triathlon Championships in Wollongong! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Matthew took on the PTS4 World Championship race, an impressive event featuring a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run. 👉 Read more about this inspiring student-athlete here: https://www.parra.catholic.edu.au/whats-on/latest-news/2025/10/21/00/59/world-triathlon-championship-2025-para-triathlon-a-break-from-study-for-matt-engesser Layla Sharp, a recent graduate from Emmaus Catholic College Kemps Creek, recently made her international debut for Australia at the World Para Athletics Championships in India! Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators

Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the “Christine Howe STEM Academic Scholarship”, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Students enrolling in Year 7 from 2026 are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to excellence in learning within a supportive Catholic community.
