It’s service with a smile at the Holy Family Primary breakfast club!
We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and at Holy Family Primary School in Emerton, a new breakfast program has been launched to ensure that it stays that way!
With an estimated 10% of Australian primary school children going without breakfast, Holy Family Emerton is committed to teaching students about the importance of starting the day with a healthy meal.
With the support of Plumpton Marketplace and the Rotary Club of Mount Druitt, the school has been able to launch a program which provides a free meal each morning for every student, rewarding an early start at school and providing fuel for a big day of learning.

“Providing breakfast at school can help make the morning rush a little easier for students and parents. I am very grateful that this program has been made available thanks to the support of our local community,” said Principal John Spradbrow.
Plumpton Marketplace was thrilled to hear about the success of the breakfast program at Holy Family. The tasty menu includes breakfast classics like vegemite toast and cornflakes which have also been a popular choice with students.
“Our thanks go to the many shoppers who purchased a plate, retailers who supported the campaign and to the volunteers who gave up their time for this initiative,” said the Centre Manager, Thomas Jenkins.
It is hoped that continued community fundraising programs will support the ongoing success of the school’s breakfast program.

The gardening gurus๐๐ค at Chisholm Catholic Primary Bligh Park have outdone themselves yet again, not only producing an amazing harvest from their school garden๐ฅ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ but what a wonderful idea to invite the school community to come along, see the produce, and purchase some vegetables or herbs to take home.๐๐ There was plenty to go around including carrots, beetroots, cucumber, lettuce, a huge variety of herbs and so much more.๐๐ It was such a proud moment for students who have spent considerable time tending to the gardens. Are you on target for an excellent school holiday break? ๐ฏ Caroline Chisholm Year 9 student, Matilda Mobbs sure is! She has earned a break AND a big celebration after becoming the 2024 Female Para Youth National Champion. ๐ฅณ๐คฉ Over Easter, Matilda competed in Canberra at the 2024 National Youth Archery Championships. ๐น Matilda won three gold medals and set three National Youth records. ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ Matilda went on to compete at the Para National Championships and World Archery Oceania Grand Prix at Sydney Olympic Park, shooting a 70m personal best score and finishing with the Bronze medal. ๐ฅ Matilda also had the honour of being the Australian flag bearer at the opening and medal ceremonies. ๐ฆ๐บ We couldnโt be prouder of Matildaโs amazing achievement! ๐ฅฐ๐ Our CSPD schools are full of young people with so much potential. With ANZAC Day recognised at the end of the school holidays this year, local schools are getting in early with their ceremonies, remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Monday's event at Penola Catholic College was coordinated by history teacher Nicholas Hall, whose personal connection to the day made it even more significant.
