To meet the needs of families in Sydney’s thriving North West, St Joseph’s Primary Schofields will open brand new facilities in coming weeks purpose-built for modern learning, including spaces designed for science, technology, investigations and creativity. The expansion of this caring school will also include a community cafe to be completed in 2021.
Principal Lesley Studans is ready to enrol new students at St Joseph’s Primary right now, including for the 2021 school year.
“I’m so excited for students and the opportunities that these outstanding new facilities will provide for learning and play,” Mrs Studans said.
As COVID-19 restrictions ease, Mrs Studans is looking forward to welcoming community members to the school to experience the exciting new facilities. In the meantime, architects DTA have shared an artist’s impression of the design for the school that shows what’s in store for St Joseph’s students and their families.
The new classrooms will see Year 5 students and Kindergarten located close by to support the school’s buddy program. The Kindergarten area features a bike track and huge sandpit, sure to be popular with little learners.
St Joseph’s, or ‘Joey’s’ as the friendly school community is known locally, has a kangaroo and joey mascot. It’s a reminder for students of the school’s location where once kangaroos were known to graze.
“We plan to have a place with chickens and gardens which pays tribute to the rural history of Schofields and teaches students about caring for the environment, honouring our Indigenous heritage,’’ Mrs Studans said.

🚲 NATIONAL RIDE TO SCHOOL DAY! 🛴 Last week, Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School Kellyville celebrated National Ride to School Day, continuing a much-loved tradition within the school community! SUIT COMPLETION CEREMONY 🎓 Year 12 students, together with their families, CSPD Pathways & Careers Advisors and school leaders, came together to celebrate a significant milestone. 👏 A total of 79 students from the 2025–2026 cohort have successfully completed the Step Up Into Teaching (SUIT) program, securing early entry into their preferred teaching degree at Australian Catholic University (ACU). EARTH HOUR 🌏 Tonight we mark Earth Hour, a global call to action encouraging individuals and communities to switch off non-essential lights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. It’s a powerful reminder that even small actions can make a big difference, inviting us all to “Give an hour for Earth.” ✨ Across our schools, it’s been inspiring to see students putting this into action. Through Caritas Australia’s Caritas Australia's Project Compassion Water Walk, students stepped into the reality faced by many in developing communities, walking long distances to access clean water. 💧 Together, they carried buckets full of water through Parramatta Park, raising awareness and funds while deepening their understanding of global inequality. More than just a walk, it was a meaningful expression of faith in action - showing compassion, solidarity and a commitment to others.
