What better day than All Saints Day to visit Mary MacKillop Place in North Sydney. Four MLZ students with their teachers took the train from Mount Druitt to North Sydney to visit the sacred site where Saint Mary MacKillop lived, died and is buried.
The students enjoyed Blue Whale Theatre's production 'Mary, A Woman of Courage' which portrayed Mary's life in an interactive way, appreciated by young and old alike.
We then visited the chapel where we prayed around Mary's tomb and finished the morning with some healthy food from the cafe.
Our students now have a better understanding of Saint Mary's life and contribution to the young people of Australia. At MLZ, we conclude our brief prayer each day with the invocation... Mother Mary of the Cross, pray for us. We pray that Saint Mary will continue to touch the lives of our students, young people she would have been delighted to have in her schools.

We may not use them as much in the digital age 💳, but coins 🪙🪙👛still play an important role in Australia's economy and history. 🤩🙌 Year 6 students from St Matthew's Catholic Primary, Windsor got a hands-on experience about our currency history and how our coins 🪙are made on an excursion to the Royal Australian Mint (the Mint) in Canberra. 🌟 They got to see the world of coin production 💰and even minted their very own coins! 😲🤯 The Mint is Australia’s national mint and sole producer of circulating coins for the country. It also produces circulating coins for other countries and manufactures collector coins, investor products, medals, medallions, and tokens for domestic and international clients. 👏

On ANZAC Day🌺🎖, here is a shining example of how young people are honouring the legacy of Australia’s servicemen and women.✨🇦🇺 Sacred Heart Primary School Westmead student Mannat Dubey created a stunning artwork which was voted runner up in the RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Art Competition 2025. 🎨🖌👏👏 Mannat attended the Schools Remember Commemoration Service and met Governor of NSW the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC. Mannat piece, which was also the focus of a special article in her local Parra News newspaper📰🌟, reminds us that the spirit of ANZAC lives on in the hearts of the next generation.💞 "I wanted to enter the ANZAC Art Competition because I saw it as an opportunity to learn more about the history of Australia, and I wanted to know more about the ANZACs in particular because when I grow up, I want to be in the army and fight for peace and freedom," Mannat said.
