Does my family need to be Catholic to attend a CSPD school?

It is not necessary to share the Catholic faith to apply for enrolment in CSPD schools. We warmly welcome all families into our schools. We do ask that families of other faiths are prepared to support and participate in the Catholic ethos and activities of the school.

Why doesn't this come into effect until 2026?

The enrolment period for CSPD schools begins in March for the following year. While enrolment applications are welcome at any time (where vacancies are available), launching the fee-free offering in 2026 will allow CSPD to share the exciting news with the community throughout 2025.

How do I access support sooner if my family is struggling to pay school fees now?

We encourage any family experiencing financial difficulties to reach out to their school office for a confidential conversation about the support available. We want to ensure that all families feel supported.

Will the fee-free model affect the quality of education?

Removing fees will not reduce student opportunities or school resources at any of our schools.

Our schools will continue to offer an exciting range of extracurricular opportunities including music, creative arts, public speaking and a variety of sporting opportunities. Our students will retain access to the latest learning resources and technology to enhance their learning.

How will this change impact CSPD schools’ class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios?

We consistently succeed in maintaining a high student-to-teacher ratio. This will not change.

How can I enrol my child or children at a CSPD school?

CSPD is now accepting enrolment applications, including for the 2026 enrolment year. If your family would like to join one of our school communities in 2025, enrolment applications are most welcome.

Request and complete an enrolment application from your preferred CSPD school and submit it to the school office as soon as possible. Applications will be processed and prioritised on receipt.

Please read the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Enrolment Policy prior to enrolment.

How can I take up this fee-free offering for my child or children at a CSPD school?

Families need to be enrolled at a CSPD school before they fill in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student School Fee Offering form.

Once completed, this form and any other relevant material should be returned to the school Principal or enrolment officer.

The school will send a letter to the family confirming that their child has been accepted for the offering.

Are there any exceptions or conditions?

The decision to enrol is based on the needs of the student. It is important to consider the readiness of a student to begin school and to give consideration to students who may require extra support.

Where enrolments exceed maximum student numbers, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

Does a fee-free education still provide access to counselling, special education, education extension and other support services?

Yes. All existing support services in place will be retained.

How does this initiative support the Catholic faith?

In response to Bishop Vincent’s directive for schooling to be accessible for all, CSPD is committed to maximising the opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. In the spirit of the Gospel message of love and welcome, CSPD wants to ensure all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families have the opportunity to enrol in local Catholic schools if they so choose.

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese’s commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples is to improve the educational outcomes of their children and young people.
